Elani Ft. Chameleone New Video My Darling Part 2 Is Out!

Elani Ft. Chameleone New Video My Darling Part 2 Is Out!

Elani left us hanging with their video from their latest song with Chameleone. To this effect, they followed through with their promise to complete the ‘My Darling’ video and the whole video is out. The video has a brilliant storyline and that maybe goes out to explain why they were smiling at the end of the first one. To be honest, the video made me love sick in some way. These mushy things can have you getting chest pains and goosebumps unnecessarily. Continue reading “Elani Ft. Chameleone New Video My Darling Part 2 Is Out!”

New Video : Elani Ft. Chameleone ‘My Darling’ Is Out

Elani released an audio to their song with Chameleone a while back, and it has been ringing in the heads of their fans as they wondered when the music video would be released. The My Darling video has had many tongues wagging since its release and in my opinion, the video is high definition and as usual, Elani had a story to tell. In brief, the video is about a couple who were having a good time and had a tragic and not very anticipated ending. Continue reading “New Video : Elani Ft. Chameleone ‘My Darling’ Is Out”

Keeping Up With Sauti Sol

Keeping Up With Sauti Sol

There is nothing harder than keeping up with Sauti Sol but don’t worry I will always dart my eyes around for the newest and freshest news. I was minding my own business on YouTube then they recommended an audio by 2Baba (Popularly known as 2Face Idibia) featuring Sauti Sol. Most ardent Sauti Sol fans would know that it had been released shortly after Easter Holidays but as for those who don’t know, Oya Come Make We Go is a very beautiful song.

With the mellow harmonies by Sauti Sol and 2Baba from Ghana. This song is quite the stress reliever. It has been playing on the loop ever since I discovered it. There is no official video yet and my hope is that they don’t sweep it under the rug and forget it like it was not a piece of heaven. The song is beautifully done and can easily make you love Sauti Sol even the more.

In other news, Sauti Sol has released a new song with Mi Casa dubbed Tulale Fofofo. The song has a neat South African touch thanks to the touch Dr. Duda(Mi Casa) has on the keytar and the trumpet from Mo-T(Mi Casa) with Fancy Fingers throwing in his touch on the strings as well. The video isn’t too complicated and is all about turning it up the Kenyan way with J’ Something(Mi Casa) chanting the popular Kenyan party phrase ‘Ikibamba sana wapi nduru?!’. The song will be on the new album released by Mi Casa titled, Home Sweet Home. The song is joyous, and here, the Kenyan and South African rich culture meet.

This song has come about the same time they released a new song with Willy Paul titled Take It Slow. Even though personally I have never been a fan, this time, I believe he outdid himself. The beat that carried the amazing vocals is super catchy and gets you dancing as soon as it drops. We have Main Switch to thank for that awesome production. The video quality is on top and compliments the sound all the way as they tell a story. The storyline is a sad and very educational one.

The level of edutainment that is obtained here has surpassed most local content that seeks to bring down other artists or a certain kind of people. The message in it is just as encouraging as it is educative like in Oya Come Make We Go which insists on living your life to the fullest despite the hurdles and problems faced. Take It Slow mainly talks about unplanned pregnancy among the youth who don’t want to take it slow while living it large in their love lives. The video shows a couple who are not happy with their lives and the child gets to suffer. The child is caught between two disgruntled and ever quarrelling parents and leaves the wife in despair and the family broken.

It is clear that Sauti Sol is not sleeping, unlike many artists who are quick to demand their music be played yet they don’t keep the listeners eager for more. Big up to the whole team behind Sauti Sol for the good work. The success we are recording today would not be materialised were it not for them. Keep up with that and while Sauti Sol may want to live and die in Africa, I doubt their legacy will be bound by borders, race or culture.

Nyashinski Is Back! Now You Know

Nyashinski Is Back! Now You Know

Nyashinski is back, and he is taking no prisoners! Rappers beware because this Klepto is not only stealing back the hearts he broke when he left the industry in 2006, but he is also here to steal some people’s careers if they do not up their game. He clearly hit the ground running when he landed back because his song with Nameless takes you all the way back to the future. After Letigo, his newest single Now You Know is a definite hit. The song has a feel that words alone can’t express. Continue reading “Nyashinski Is Back! Now You Know”

Artist Review: The Amazing Amileena Mwenesi

Artist Review: The Amazing Amileena Mwenesi

Tusker Project Fame has brought many musicians out of the woodwork in a bid to try and expose the talent in the larger part of Eastern Africa. Most of the musicians who emerge through victorious never get to be heard of again, but that was not the case for Amileena. She may not have won the Tusker Project Fame 4 battle, but she certainly won the war. The music queen is celebrated in Kenya for her various songs that touch your heart in places you probably never knew existed.

She recorded with Ogopa and set off on her musical journey releasing hits like Twajichanganya, which had amazing vocals and cool dance moves. Most of her counterparts have not been very keen on following their dreams, but Amileena has forged on despite the hardship a beginner may face. She has done it well the whole way and made it look so easy, and this is an encouraging factor to most beginners who want to share their voices with the world.

Despite her conservative nature, she will not only draw you in with her smile but also with her charm and wit in her lyrics and her heavenly voice crowns it all. She doesn’t show much of her skin or hair and has found a way to embrace her womanhood without showing too much of her body. To some extent those who said she who shows a lot has very little had a point here not to throw any shade though. Every woman has their way of embracing their womanhood.

On her repertoire, she has songs like Naona Bado in which Sudi features her, Why, Shine, Hali Mahututi, Twajichanganya, and Nisamehe. Her most recent one being with Calvo Mistari, with whom she launched her self-titled album in 2014, called Wewe Ndiye. These are just some of the hits on our airwaves and today here at Ngoma we appreciate how far Amileena has come and the stretch in front of her towards her future. Check out our Rhumbala playlist and you might just find her latest there!

Below is her latest song with Calvo Mistari.

Jaydee’s New Song – Ndi Ndi Ndi

Jaydee’s New Song – Ndi Ndi Ndi

Justin Campos did it again! Another one has come from the producer of Unconditionally Bae by Sauti Sol featuring Ali Kiba. We did a video review a while back here, and our ratings were pretty high. Lady Jaydee released her new song Ndi Ndi Ndi and did not wait too long to release the video. The high definition video and the story line is on point. The video is set in a club and a house, they are dance routines by Jide Jaydee and her backup dancers as they chase the man away from the house.

The song is all women knowing that they deserve better and putting their happiness first before everything. If he is dragging you down, he is most likely dead weight. Jaydee never disappoints be it with the costume of the voice. She has been around for a while and knew just where to touch to get through to her listeners. She never misses her mark, and it’s evident from what she has done with this music video.

She has done collaborations with the Ugandan Queen Juliana Kanyomozi, Kidum from Burundi and Professor Jay from Tanzania her very own motherland among many other renowned artists. You may know her from Siku Hazigandi, Yahaya, Moyo, Nitafanya and Joto Hasira. The music she comes up with may be from a hurting reference point, and maybe that is what makes it more relatable. A lot of women stay in unhealthy relationships for fears of the unknown and Jaydee made this song just for them. If he wants every other girl, then let him have them, as long as he is out of your life.

Judge Jo1: Wholistic Education For Wholistic Growth And Development

Judge Jo1: Wholistic Education For Wholistic Growth And Development

Education in Kenya has come under a lot of questioning, most saying that the result does not help much in real life. The outside world is wild and requires so much of a student most of which is not covered in our system. Instead of the 8-4-4 system our country has adopted, most parents are now seeking alternative systems which may help their children lead better lives and be better and useful people in the society.
